New Year, New Hire

Christian Nasillo

It’s 2022 and the team at ThoughtSpark are excited to welcome our own new colleague, Christian Nasillo. To introduce himself, Christian has written a few words about himself and his career so far

I first saw the role of Account Executive being advertised on my University’s Careers page four months after I had graduated. It’s true that as a recent grad suddenly thrust into the big wide world of work that I was spending most of my waking hours endlessly scouring career pages and job websites. Nonetheless, like many fresh faced and starry-eyed idealists I didn’t want to go straight into the first job that I could find that would render the last 4 years of my life – and the thousands I’d racked up in tuition fees – completely meaningless.

I count myself as incredibly lucky therefore to have been given this opportunity by ThoughtSpark. I am a Spanish and English literature grad, so when I read about the company’s work in international markets, I was immediately excited at the prospect of finding a use for my language skills and I was keen to join such a talented team of multilinguals working across Europe.  Additionally, I had held a temporary role at another Public Relations company as an assistant, which introduced me not only to office life but also to the world of communications and PR. It seemed therefore that the stars had aligned, and Fate itself had intervened to pull me out of that directionless state of post-graduate limbo to offer me the chance of a natural and organic step forward in my career. You might even call it destiny…

Ok perhaps I am being too dramatic. You can blame my younger self for reading too many fantasy novels, but the point that cannot be understated is my enthusiasm for the job. I’m incredibly grateful to be given this opportunity and I’m looking forward to being able to utilise my creative skills and develop further skills in intelligent and specialised marketing.

Outside of the office I am a keen reader (I spent 4 years studying English Literature, so I’d better be), I’m also an amateur(-ish) guitarist and although I have little in the way of actual playing skill, I’m a big football fan and ardent supporter of Liverpool F.C.

If you’re interested in working with or at ThoughtSpark, feel free to drop us a line here or connect with us on LinkedIn.
